5 Reasons You Should be Google Certified

I recently got certified in Google Analytics and am now preparing to get certified in AdWords. I took courses on these topics in college, and I use the platforms on Site-Seeker every day. That said, you might ask me why I want to get certified.

There are many benefits, but as part of a network marketing agency and PPC advertising company team, I am happy to help my teammates. Not sure what I’m talking about? Here are five reasons why you should be certified as a marketing professional:

You will be recognized by Google

Whether you’re an individual or part of a team, it’s definitely a good thing to have. Google Partners helps people find you. This could lead to networking opportunities and even new leads through their unique search engine, Google Partner Search.

Your Google Partners membership also entitles you to numerous additional benefits such as training events, support, promotions and beta testing opportunities. These are great perks!

you may learn something new

Let’s be honest, experts don’t exist, especially those who call themselves experts. However, you’ll at least improve your craft. I’m sure there are features on these platforms that you’re not using correctly or at all. If you know the material, why not broaden your knowledge?

On the other hand, what you learn may be completely new to you. Think of it as the first step on your journey. Once you’re certified, you’ve got the basics down, so go ahead and learn as much as you can. You’ll be able to apply your new knowledge and skills to your work and people will be asking for your help! It’s always good to feel needed.

Improve company performance

When you understand how to properly set up and navigate Analytics, you’ll be able to make better recommendations and decisions about strategy implementation.

Plus, it’s in Google’s best interest for any organization to get great results from their AdWords campaigns. Through the certification process, you’ll learn how to create successful campaigns and get the conversions you want.

Know your brand and customers

Specifically, Google Analytics is a great tool when it comes to doing any kind of analysis on your brand. Armed with your knowledge, you’ll be able to navigate and dig deep into the captured data to understand your customers’ habits and how they interact with your brand and website. You’ll know what’s working and what’s not, and use that information to make better decisions.

It looks good in your institution’s portfolio and your own CV

It’s simple: Certification proves that you know what you’re talking about. This is great for potential clients and potential employers. Even if customers don’t know anything about the content of the certification process, they can still trust you to know what you know. Would you rather work with a certified PPC advertising agency, or with a group of people who promise to do the best for you?

Likewise, if you’re looking for a job in Internet marketing, you’ll likely find that Google certification is often required, or at least preferred by many employers. It also shows your willingness to learn and keep up with trends and changes in the industry. Time to flesh out your resume!

Bonus: You Can Get AdWords Certified for Free!

That’s right, when you join the Google Partners program, you get training and study guides, and you can earn certifications for free. If you haven’t already, you’ll need to sign up for Google Partners.

Remember, there are several certifications you can earn from Google, and courses are always open for you to enroll in. If you want to get certified on your own, I recommend using a platform that you are fairly familiar with so you can experience the process before moving on to more difficult topics. If your employer recommends or requires you to become certified, work with your superiors to help determine the best course of action for you.
